Special exhibition "100 years of motorcycle tradition Zschopau"
The motorcycle town of Zschopau looks back on a long tradition of motorcycle construction. Motorcycles were built here very successfully from 1922 to 2016. The reason for the special exhibition "Road Racing Era" in the motorcycle museum at Augustusburg Castle is Zschopau's anniversary "100 Years of Motorcycle City Zschopau" in 2022, during which not only the city of Zschopau deals with its successful motorcycle history.
The special exhibition focuses on road racing, which played a driving role in the development of production vehicles in general. For almost a century, motorcycles from Zschopau helped shape racing at the top of the world.
Based on seven selected racing motorcycles and their successful riders, the special exhibition provides an insight into this era with the world-famous brands DKW, Auto Union, MZ and MuZ. A total of seven motorcycles, including the MZ RZ 300 of racing legend Heinz Rosner, will be staged to provide a unique look at racing technology.
Under the overarching title "100 Years of Motorcycle Tradition Zschopau", Schloss Wildeck, the Museum für sächsische Fahrzeuge Chemnitz e.V. as well as the Motorcycle Museum at Schloss Augustusburg are participating in the anniversary year with different thematic focuses with special exhibitions. The German Enduro Museum Zschopau is also involved as a cooperation partner.
