The route starts from the parking lot Glauchau reservoir, turning right, following the green-marked path through the Gründelpark towards the town center. On the right above the path is the Double castle Glauchau. Turn left onto Talstraße and go straight through the next roundabout. Now follow the main road to the train station. There, initially turn right following the green hiking trail sign, then after the police station turn left onto the red hiking trail. Follow the red marking through Carola Park (alternatively, go up Talstraße) to the animal park. Before the animal park, turn left onto Lungwitzer Straße and follow this until it goes downhill. Turn right into Erzgebirgsweg and follow the signposts to the Bismarck tower. At the tower, after the shelter, turn left downhill on the main path. At the main road, keep right, before the bridge turn right again and follow the stream. Here you are on the river educational trail, which provides a lot of information about the Lungwitzbach on 21 display panels.
In St. Egidien, after the sports field, cycle along the stream to Schillerstraße, turn right, and then left into Glauchauer Str. Follow this to Lichtensteiner Str., cross Lichtensteiner Str., and continue straight on Am Anger, Karl Onkel Steg and Lessingweg parallel to Lungwitzbach. Turn right into Platanenstr. and then left into Nußbaumweg. Follow this right, parallel to the railway tracks, to the underpass. Use the underpass on the left and, following the sign for Panoramaradweg Lichtenstein, cycle to Lichtenstein castle.
At Daetz Center, turn left uphill, cross the main road, and follow the sign for Panoramaradweg through the forest towards Hohndorf. Pass through Hohndorf and turn right towards Rödlitz. Turn right onto Rödlitzer Str. and then left into Schafgartenweg. Then right into Am Gemeindeberg, left into Obere Dorfstr., and right into Heinrichsdorfer Weg/Rödlitzer Weg. At the Heinrichsdorf church, turn left onto Prinz Heinrich Straße and cycle through Neudorfer Wald on this road.
After the forest, turn right onto Freitagsstraße (farm road) and now follow the sign for Jakobsweg to the A 72, use the underpass and then turn right to the Ortmannsdorfer Straße junction. Turn left here and cycle downhill along the red hiking trail. After the church in Zschocken, turn right onto the main road and then left onto Zwickauer Straße. Stay on Zwickauer Straße to Hartenstein market, then turn right onto Bahnhofstraße. Follow this to Stein castle and here join the Mulde cycle path. This path takes you back to the starting point.
