The tour starts in idyllic Wolkenburg and initially leads along Kaufunger Straße to Kaufungen. The town is crossed in the direction of Limbach-Oberfrohna. At the Limbach-Oberfrohna town entrance sign, go straight through the intersection, at the next intersection follow the road slightly to the right towards Rußdorf.

From Meinsdorf it goes via Langenberg to Hohenstein-Ernstthal. Immediately after the motorway underpass, turn right and follow the Karl May hiking trail parallel to the motorway. At the end of the path, there is a hiking parking lot. Here, use the motorway underpass on the right and go left through the forest, following the yellow hiking trail towards Oberwald reservoir. From there, the tour continues straight ahead along the road to Grumbach.
Arriving in town, go left behind the church, along fields and meadows, towards Ebersbach and later towards Reinholdshain. Turn right towards Oertelshain, go through the town to Remse, and cycle downhill to the Mulde. Here turn right onto Grünfelder Straße.
Now you are on the Mulderadweg and follow it to Waldenburg. You pass through Grünfelder Park, a gem of English garden art, with a bathhouse, mausoleum, and open-air stage. At the park exit, turn right onto B 180 and immediately left towards Niederwinkel. In Niederwinkel, follow the signs for the Lutherweg and cycle back to Wolkenburg through the forest.
