The route leads from the parking lot at Glauchau reservoir, to the right, along the green-marked path through Gründelpark towards the town center. Above the path on the right is the Glauchau double castle complex.
Turn left onto Talstraße and go straight through the following roundabout. Then follow the main road to the train station. There first turn right following the green hiking sign, then at the police station turn left onto the red hiking trail. Follow the red marking through Carola Park (alternatively go up Talstraße) to the animal enclosure. Before the animal enclosure, turn left onto Lungwitzer Straße and follow it until it descends. Here turn right onto Erzgebirgsweg and follow the signs to Bismarck tower until you reach the tower.
At the tower, after the shelter, turn left and go downhill on the main path. At the main road, keep right, just before the bridge turn right again and follow the stream. You are now on the river educational trail, which on 21 information boards offers many interesting facts about the Lungwitzbach.
In St. Egidien, after the sports ground, cycle along the stream to Schillerstraße, turn right, then right again onto Glauchauer Straße. Cycle uphill on Glauchauer Straße, continue straight along the path to the inn and at the inn, turn slightly left. In the forest, follow the green hiking sign and the signpost to Voigtlaide. At the end of the forest, continue straight on the main path toward Voigtlaide. Continue straight to the edge of town, then turn left to Wernsdorf and follow the main road to the town center. At the intersection (in front of the bakery), turn right and then left onto Zum Stausee street. Follow the road straight to the reservoir. Before the reservoir, keep right and cycle around the lake to the parking lot.
