The route leads from the Glauchau reservoir parking lot, to the right, on the green marked path through Gründelpark towards the town centre. To the right above the path is the Glauchau double castle.
Turn left onto Talstraße and pass straight through the following roundabout. Now follow the main street to the train station. There, first turn right following the green hiking trail sign, then at the police station turn left onto the red hiking trail. Follow the red marking through Carola Park (alternatively uphill via Talstraße) to the animal enclosure. Before the animal enclosure, turn left onto Lungwitzer Straße and follow it until it goes downhill. Here turn right into Erzgebirgsweg and follow signs to the Bismarck tower until the tower.
At the tower, after the shelter, turn left downhill on the main path. On the main street keep right, before the bridge turn right again and follow the stream. You are now on the river educational trail, which provides a lot of information about Lungwitzbach on 21 display boards.
In St. Egidien, after the sports field, cycle along the stream to Schillerstraße, turn right and then right again into Glauchauer Straße. Cycle up Glauchauer Straße, follow the path straight to the inn and make a slight left at the inn. In the forest follow the green hiking trail marking and the Voigtlaide signpost. At the end of the forest go straight on the main path towards Voigtlaide. Continue straight on to the edge of the village, then turn left to Wernsdorf and follow the main road to the town centre. At the intersection (in front of the bakery) turn right and then left into Zum Stausee street. Follow the road straight back to the reservoir. Before the reservoir, keep right and cycle around the lake to the parking lot.
