Tourismusregion Zwickau e.V.

Between the Mulde Valley and Erzgebirge Mountains

Our “Zwickau Tourism Region” association was set up on 17 September 2003 as the regional marketing and tourism association of Chemnitz Rural District. The association was renamed the Zwickau Tourism Region as a result of the local government reform package of August 2008 and the creation of Zwickau Rural District out of the former Chemnitz Rural District and Zwickau Rural District and the city of Zwickau.

The association’s aim is to pool the many tourist facilities in the region and market the Zwickau tourism region as a whole.

Our work is based on the following four marketing themes:

Culture & History – legendary

Go in search of Saxon history. The fortresses and castles near and along the Zwickauer Mulde river are mysterious and shrouded in legends. Many museums, galleries and mills invite people to come and get to know the culture and history of our region.

Experience nature in an active way

Whether you are walking cycling, riding or canoeing, the region offers a wide range of opportunities to get involved in sports or simply enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings. A large number of beautiful parks and gardens enable nature lovers to enjoy hours of pleasure.

Children & families – discovering adventures

Follow us to the adventure land for children and families to the place where Karl May left his mark, to wonderfully designed zoos or on a trip to the seven wonders of the world at the mini-world. Many adventure pools, playgrounds, indoor play areas and learning and adventure worlds are just waiting to receive their guests.

Motor sports – traditional and modern

There is plenty to discover in the Zwickau tourism region about the history of motor cars and distinctive industrial history.

It is important for our work to have many fellow-workers, who are all pursuing the same goals. So we would like to take this opportunity of thanking all our members and cooperation partners for their excellent level of cooperation.
